Animals in picture books always look alive. It's funny how a photograph can enstill moments in time. Putting flames to pictures here in hopes to defrost the Past. Even when I dream I can't escape this war as my Nightmares manifest. Sleeping pills? I have tried them all - Stayed awake with a dry mouth. This fear of waking up to find your eyes stay shut The world ended in your sleep and you're no longer living. Martyred as we say our prayers; Their avatar is born in new skin. Begging Morpheus to remove me from this world. Ten thousand demons are painted for war, Our children to become more. Once drank till sick then drank some more But alcohol couldn't knock me out. This fear of waking up to find your eyes stay shut The world ended in your sleep and you're no longer living. Martyred as we say our prayers; Their avatar is born in new skin. Begging Morpheus to remove me from this world. Ten thousand demons are painted. They're painted for war - Our children to heed their prayers and fall.

Silent waking screams beckoning as I recalled What it was like back then. It lead me to realize my path - Defense is merciless - and after all, "Father's the savior of us all." What he has planned will be revealed in time. Maybe this will Brind the strength to help us fight for Freedom to escape the pit we've fallen into. I don't know where to go when things become what they'll become. Should we fight for all that we believe in? Should we fight this losing war we're leading? Discovered it today; the vial containing years of work. Is this what we have planned? Are we beginning to fall apart? Thread unraveling our conscious... this can't be! "Father's the savior of us all" He's opening Pandora's box We'll be engulfed! I don't know where to go when things become what they're becoming. This war has already started!
3.
Leave it to the wind to carry out what's begun today. Their faith in it has undone. The lighthouse has been lost; The truth has been forgotten now they're going. What are they trying to find? It's cold... Leave it to them The sun is out of view And with no light, there's no hope. And I can't find it - The Lighthouse of Acheron. As night's returning, there's nothing to keep me from Stumbling into the cleft of earth.

The Tyrant 07:04
Sending missiles to all who hold their flags. A manic hypocrite dressed in patriot's skin. The homeless witness every whisper from the streets; Prophets dressed in rags - the wisest in this war. And yet it towers, the suits invest in this mental warfare. Playing God - creating disease. A father turned tyrant with ease. Tried to keep calm, tried to supress. This cold war is heating, suprised we're still breathing. Anger surging as eyes witness A holocaust beckons from the bowels of our estate. A gun demands notice which most'll never get; My sweating hand grabs the revolver from the drawer. The silence broken as the shot rings out, And lands an inch off target. My fingers lock. I'm petrified As I witness the blood dress his side. Once more! Fire once more! Swift hands approach my limbs. It's too late; the Tyrant straps me down A test rat in fate's hands... Muscles relax as I'm injected with what will end our world. A guinea pig to perfect this weapon; The dosage too low to knock me out. Bloody Tyrant corrects last mistakes in preparation for the launch. It's complete - weapons aimed to the eastern world. Thanatos is born today. The human mind destroyed today. The drug starts working as lights go out.

Shade stains the fizzling neon. Pestilent beggars coughing their night song. This night we dealt our attack - Billows of black death imbued into their land. I'm not sure what's happening to their skies above. It's getting cold now this fog surrounds all that they love. This is the last sunset that they will ever see. This is the death of the skies where they once were free. In minutes light will leave them all, As Thanatos comes to his call. As the virus engulfs the summer's sky, Dream and hopes escape as they're left to die. Day and night and time itself does not exist As heaven above who told them when to wake is cloaked in mist. Blues turn to blacks and greens to grey across the land - A monochrome frame to look through all that is at hand. I'm not sure what's happening to their skies above. It's getting cold now this fog engulfs all that they love. This is the last sunset that they will ever see. This is the Death of the Skies where they once were free. In self-defense we've killed them all, Poisoning their minds with our weapon's squall. We'll cover up the public's eyes, As they rejoice and kiss this war goodbye. The time was 10:13 When I saw their world. Mindless... asinine... they were inane. A vagabond tribe. Oh my god, what have we done? On the reverse of a one way mirror we can see what I've done. Screaming father, oh father you've killed them and we're drowning in their blood. The neon grows dimmer still - I glare from my window. My son remains unconscious here; the virus begins to flow. Bane to feed the criminals, I thought I could avenge my wife's death. Lies from filthy government, Paid with blood stained money to fight the war they've waged. And I've been wondering what's happening to these skies above. My mind knows the answer, this gun the key to getting inside.

My mind has gone too many miles from here - Absent recoil - I guess it's not coming back. This abysm is warm in the strangest ways; It keeps bringing me closer to the fall. Hold on. I never wanted to be here in this red city. Close my eyes! His gaze surrenders me into depression's queue. Embrace the shell! This is my home; The red city will bring me through. Possessed anthologies - tea stained pages hold the words - Stop signs ignored; past the point of turning back. Non immune - emotions strewn. On my feet, about to collapse. Hold on. I never wanted to be here in this red city. Close my eyes! His gaze surrenders me into depression's queue. Embrace the shell! This is my home; the red city will bring me through. It's suffocating - a lung collapsed like the happiness once found. I need it breathed back into me - The air so pure that went away. Time inflicts my torture. As I'm craving to let go as many have done before, Suicidal roulettes scream. Close my eyes, imagine where I want to be and cut the strings from this red city. No. He surrendered! Thanatos comes with black wings. Am I in a better home?

These cold clutches of a blackened hand come to pick me up when I'm falling from my home. Why should I leave this abyss - its shadows a soothing balm To relieve my pain - it's a cure to my paranoid thoughts. He keeps me here while I'm searching for his arms. The blood in his veins is my cure! You're gone, my fangs are craving your blood my Charon. You're left me here, I struggled in my fear Now why aren't my wounds healing. (Now they're not). Thanatos! Where are you now? Thanatos. You've left me to die. I'm bleeding out for you. I've slit my veins to come here, and these wounds won't seem to heal - There's these constant screams in me. I've hit the ashes hard; the ashes of those he's burned in this place... Thanatos I need you! This red rose has withered. This time has stopped. And in the cries of the mourning I hear his name.

The nightmare continued and I started to catch on, But my legs were far heavier as I stumbled to find protection. Eye-lids glued together as watched myself Projected inside my mind. Now this world becomes a cinema - displaying the latest show - of a boy armed with only weakness, Defending from the glowing eyes which lurk in each corner - Resembles his every fear. The personified demons of all that robbed him of his dreams. But then a feather falls down the river Styx. The Radiance a light he's forgotten. He looks above his fallen state, The archangel has come home. Name me Icarus and lend me your wings, I beg to return to my world. Grant me the strength to lift my limbs, A lucid dream where I'm in control. I've been trying to escape this, Desperately trying to escape this. Each time I awake - sweating and cold - I'm still in in this place. As I try once again, the twin takes his form; The god who has trapped me in this slumber. With a swift advance, the angel draws and arrow, Firing into the heart of Hypnos. I'm given the cue - I try to open my mortal eyes, The angel defends as Thanatos comes forth. This is my last chance!

Awake. Cheer and joy all around. We won the war. Sit up. Find my feet and hear the news. Something's wrong. Half the world is suffering as I just as - a massacre And yet the parades continue as I speak; The irony is disgusting me. Each mask and animal covering the ignorance That each face wears so proudly. My vision is distorted but I see through your disguise. In due time you'll name me captain of this sinking vessel that we are living on. As humans evolve into tiny fucking fish, Just another escape. Half the world defines defense with weapons as words, A massacre. And yet our laws are passed for peace. The irony is disgusting me. With flagpoles as paws and children for arms, They're howling to their Lord. On this black day he confirmed their faith, as blood runs down the walls. My ship's in a bottle about to break And I'll surely die in the fall. Mine's a wish whispered to the hurricane outside these walls. Mine's a breath confessing my love to her. Beloved sings an elegy, sealed with a solemn kiss. Her hands are cold as she weeps. I know I must fight this. Thanatos! He's heard our desperate calls as these worlds blur. The death-god soon will be here. We'll break up the parades and gather infantry. Defending what world we have left. She tries to hold him down - his dimentia's taken over. He throws a punch to her head. Escaping from his manor into the world. Their God is wise, Printing the lies in the newspapers they're bringing home. Their God is wise, Diverting eyes from the blood they spilled this day. Yet he knows the truth that escapes their minds As he fights to bring them to reality.

Decrepit prophet. They say your words are painted with blasphemy. The pigs are laughing at you, You're but a dope fiend begging for a fix. He sprints in crooked lines down the cityside screaming scripted treason from the chapter in his mind - desperately hunting obliging men to heed his call. She awakes from her inert state and dashes out the door searching for a psychopath in a crowd of drunken celebration. She sees a stumbling man dash into a broadcasting station. He interrupts the local news and continues up and up until the shining sun on a window makes it look much like a mirror. She reaches the top to witness his final steps. The fear erupted on his face as he saw his reflection in the windowpane. Thanatos stood looking back behind a glass wall. He charged at the figure, as shattered glass flew following the Insomniac to his dismal end. "Hold on! Hold on!" she cried out to his still body. "Hold on! Hold on!" no pulse was left in his limbs. Silence choked parades as a crowd thickly swarmed. They saw a weeping woman tightly clutching a perished man. Cameras came with newsteams as writers started headlines reading "Psychopath's Grim Suicide" She quickly spoke up, couldn't take it anymore. Saying "This man was killed by our country as was half of the world." She spoke of their weapons and the suffering it caused As she witness her lover become mentally torn apart. Parades became funerals to those they had killed As a chant echoed in history singing "Thanatos."

about

Thanatos and the Archangel is a conceptual work clocking in at 70 minutes, closing with an epic 30 minute composition split up into 6 tracks. Pieces of the album have been in work for almost four years now, being stage tested and re-written numerous times.

The songs depict a world where the government is involved in deploying a controversial viral weapon - Thanatos - into hostile foreign regions. The media delivers skewed messages to the largely ignorant public to justify the actions of the government. The majority of the compositions focus lyrically around Nathan, an insomniac who fears he will perish in his sleep from the war outside his walls.
